Ellie & Jack's Party

Katherine went to Ellie and Jack's birthday party this morning. She had lots of fun! Katherine played in the sandbox. Katherine & Jack discussing what to do next. Sleeping Success!

Andrew is in Colorado for a guy trip this weekend. He is the one who usually gives Katherine her bath and puts her to sleep. I decided since her routine would already be different that I would try letting her fall asleep on her own in her crib. We've been rocking Katherine to sleep up to this point. Last night, she screamed and escalated to the point of hysteria, so I went in, laid her down and rubbed her head until she calmed down and fell asleep (in her crib). I was pleased with that for the first night and expected the same to happen tonight.

I put Katherine in her crib, turned on her mobile, and kissed her good night. As I turned to leave the room, she began to cry and continued for a few minutes. I did some things around the house and noticed her cries getting quieter. After about 15 minutes, I peeked in her room, and this is what I saw...
Katherine was sound asleep! I even managed to get her on her back without waking her up. I hope tomorrow night goes as well!

Flowers

Spring is my favorite season of the year. I love flowers! Katherine enjoys being outside, so we've done yard work almost every day the past couple of weeks.

Some of the flowers we transplanted the first year we moved in are finally blooming this year.Happy girls!

Katherine's First Steps

Today is my mom's birthday, and Katherine is 10 months, 10 days old. My parents came over tonight for dinner and were playing with Katherine. I had the video camera out because she was "chatting" up a storm. Much to our surprise, Katherine took 6 steps by herself, and we caught it on camera!!!

Pop Pop & The Pedal Car

Pop Pop (Lori's dad) has a friend who restores pedal cars, so he felt the need to get one for Katherine. She thought it was great fun to sit in it, which made his heart glad. He's going to keep it at his house until Katherine is old enough to actually use it. Thanks, Pop Pop!

Alec & Katherine

Alec is 6 months older than Katherine. He and his parents came over for dinner last weekend. We had a good time together. Alec wacked Katherine on top of the head and then kissed her to demonstrate his apology. She didn't really seem to care about either! They thoroughly enjoyed playing the piano together.
