Labor Day Weekend

This post is a little late, but I thought people would still like to see what we did Labor Day weekend. On Saturday, we hired 6 teens from the youth choir to weed and clean up the yard. It was money very well spent. In two hours, they had removed close to 2 years worth of weeds! Katherine, of course, wanted in on the action. We also let Katherine try finger painting for the first time. She preferred to turn the pages in her sketch book. So, we ripped the pages out and tried a paintbrush. Still not too interested, so we'll try again in a few weeks!

Milk from a Straw

We ate lunch at Applebee's after church yesterday. It was a spur of the moment decision, so we didn't have anything for Katherine. I ordered for her off the kid's menu; it said they would get a drink in a special cup with a lid. I thought that meant a plastic sippy cup. Nope. Just a styrofoam cup with a straw. Andrew showed Katherine how to use the straw, and she took off drinking. She was so proud of herself! This is a little recreation of the moment on our steps at home.
