Warren's Birthday

On Saturday, we went to Warren Fambro's 1st birthday party. He is Irini's youngest child. It was at The Chamber's house in their beautiful pool. Katherine LOVED the pool and had no fear at all! Cousins Rose & Grace sent Katherine the bathing suit for her birthday (which is in 2 weeks!). You can really see the bruise on her forehead in this one - she was moving a little to quickly at school and ran into a crib. Swimming lessons. Katherine sticks her tongue out and squeals when she's excited! Warren was not exactly sure what to think of Katherine. The quality of the video's is not that great - I was using my regular camera, but they are good enough to get an idea of our time at the pool. This is a little video of what we call Katherine's "banchee scream" - she was not happy that Andrew was holding her!

Here is a better look at the fun Katherine was having!

Katherine's New Pool

Mother's Day

We had a great day, and there are still a few hours left! After church, we got Chinese take-out for lunch. We set up Katherine's new pool (see other post) and then did a little yard work while she napped. It was very nice to not have any rehearsals this afternoon! If you look really closely at Katherine's fingernails, you will notice that she got a manicure last night! She stayed with Amber & Kendall Howard last night (Sara was there for just a little bit) and arrived back at the church with pink nails. I can't believe they were able to keep her still enough to paint them!Notice her two little teeth!I couldn't decide which picture I liked best!Katherine is wearing a handmade dress that her cousin Paige (whose first name is also Katherine) let us borrow. Paige is now 16.

The Purple Ball

We're in the middle of a very busy time!

Last weekend, I met with the DBMD to be reinstated as a licensed minister. I should be ordained next summer (2009). Andrew went with me, and we spent our first night together away from Katherine. Mimi and Pop Pop stayed with her, and they had a great time. This week, we've had rehearsals for Dessert Theater, the annual youth choir fundraiser show. There are two shows on Saturday. Next week, I'm going with Bob & Gail and a few other ladies to their new house in South Carolina to help them unpack. The 18th is their last Sunday, and there is a big party for them that night at church. The next day, I start full time at the church.

Andrew is in the last month of school. Let me tell you that teachers get just as antsy for the end of the year as the students! He is also still waiting on interviews for possible assistant principal positions for next year. He helps out with the youth choir, so we've both been away from Katherine lots this week.

Through it all, Katherine continues to be a joy. She turned 11 months old this week, and her second tooth is coming in. She has been sleeping through the night since we had sleeping lessons and will even put herself to sleep for her naps now. It's amazing. We've recovered hours of our day, which allows us to enjoy her even more when she's awake. She's been entertaining us all by playing with her purple ball. Enjoy the videos!

Maxey Men 2008

The Maxey Men's Retreat was held in Colorado this year. They stayed in the "cabin" of one of Andrew's dad's friends. Nice friend! Nice house! The first day, the guys went horseback riding. Andrew's mom's cousin is an outfitter at a ranch that his great-grandfather built. He supplied them with the horses and guided them on the trail. The second day, they went skiing. Andrew is the only one who had ever been before, and he had snow boarded, not skied. As would happen to them, they ended up on a beginner slope, not the bunny slope. They all fell getting off the lift, and Acha and Gary had to ride the lift back down. The third day, they relaxed in the hot tub to recover from the first two days. They also visited an animal park.
